In term 2 the level of difficulty really stepped up. My favourite from this term was the Cold Connections pendant. The only soldering here was the ring and the jump ring to add the chain. The other parts – and it is in three layers – are all rivetted with some parts able to move. I found the mix of design, engineering and aiming for a professional finish really exciting. One project involved making metal stamps to decorate a bangle – this really took me back to the family traditions of blacksmithing and tool making.
